What Is acknowledge?

acknowledge is licence free software that has been developed under the ODPM’s Knowledge Management National project (Workstream 7).

The aim of the Knowledge Management Project was to develop a set of toolkits and processes, which every local authority will be able to understand and access in order to utilise their knowledge assets in support of improving performance. The seven work streams link together to deliver products that will assist in improving democratic accountibilty, increasing the number of well-informed community leaders, raising public service standards and empowering communities.

Local Councils worked with development partners to develop acknowledge in the context of linking community engagement with policy development in local authorities or multi agency partnerships. However, acknowledge can be applied in support of any consultation activities and will enable local authorities to meet the e-government Priority Service Outcomes R15 and G3.
